John Obi Mikel has hit out at Jamie Carragher with an expletive-laden rant over the Liverpool legend's comments about the Africa Cup of Nations.
Carragher has come in for criticism from some quarters this week for suggesting that Mohamed Salah's Ballon d'Or chances have been detrimentally affected over the years by the country he represents and the international competitions he subsequently competes in.
On Sunday, Carragher had said of Salah's Ballon d'Or struggles: "I think the problem [is] the fact he's with Egypt, and he's probably not playing in the major tournament as such or maybe got a great chance of winning, I think it's either the Champions League or the major tournament [that influences who wins the Ballon d'Or].

Micah Richards chimed in: "Just to say, AFCON is a major tournament because a lot of people are at home saying, 'They aren't taking it seriously'.
If you win the Euros or Copa America, it's deemed to be big, so the AFCON is at the same level."
Former Chelsea star Mikel ranted about Carragher's comment on The Obi One Podcast, saying: "It's so disrespectful what he said, and this is coming from someone who never won any major international competition with England.

"The guy says so many things on TV, never won the Premier League, analyses teams and tells them you have to win the Premier League.
