Chelsea have been handed an injury concern ahead of their weekend visit to Anfield to face Liverpool.
The Blues will face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, the 20th of October.
With four points separating the table-topping Reds from their fourth-placed Blue counterparts, the game offers Arne Slot’s side an opportunity to put some distance between them and a likely title contender.
However, Chelsea could be at a disadvantage at Anfield on Sunday as they have been handed an injury scare ahead of the game.
Chelsea goalkeeper injured
Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen was substituted after suffering an injury in the first half of Denmark under-21s’ game against Iceland.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Blues in a £20m deal from Villarreal in July, was replaced at half-time of Tuesday’s game after colliding with a team-mate in the first half of his team’s 2-0 win.
The Denmark goalkeeper was attempting to clear the ball before suffering the injury scare.
Although Jorgensen has yet to play in the Premier League for Enzo Maresca’s side, he has played in the Conference League and Carabao Cup.
It remains to be seen how serious the issue is, but the Chelsea number two goalkeeper will now return to West London to be assessed ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca’s side received an injury boost this week after the return of club captain Reece James from a long injury layoff.
The English right-back is facing a race against time to play against Liverpool.
However, while James could feature at Anfield, the Blues will be without two of their players, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana, for the game.
Both players received their fifth yellow cards of the season during Chelsea’s draw with Nottingham Forest last time out.
