Liverpool could potentially miss out on the opportunity to sign one of their targets.
The Reds have watched a few of their transfer targets slip out of their hands in recent days, and it appears things may not be getting rosier.
Liverpool scouted Omar Marmoush for months and were interested in bringing him to Anfield at some point.
But the Reds have been beaten to the transfer by Manchester City, who are offering the player an astronomical wage.
Elsewhere, Liverpool’s tentative interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia didn’t travel that far, with the Georgian now close to signing for PSG.
It appears now that another player linked with a move to Anfield will not be coming.
Liverpool target ‘close to’ new contract agreement
According to a report by David Ornstein, Bayern Munich are close to agreeing to a new contract at the club.
Bayern Munich are close to an “agreement with Alphonso Davies over a new contract,” The Athletic journalist said
“After months of talks, only a small gap remains between Bayern and the 24-year-old left-back’s expectations on a proposed four-year deal.”
The report added that despite the contract talks between Bayern and Davies, “Real Madrid and Premier League clubs are still waiting in the wings for a compromise.”
