Cody Gakpo has been sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained during the Merseyside derby against Everton.
The Dutch international missed the subsequent wins over Wolves and Aston Villa, marking the first time this season he has been absent from a match due to injury.
Gakpo’s absence has been felt, as he is Liverpool’s second-top scorer with 16 goals, trailing only Mohamed Salah.
His injury has forced Luis Díaz to shift to the left wing, with either Darwin Núñez or Diogo Jota leading the line.
Despite the depth in Liverpool’s attack, Gakpo’s intelligent movement and clinical finishing that he has delevoped under Slot have been sorely missed.
