Liverpool took a giant step towards winning the Premier League title on Sunday with a long overdue win away at Manchester City.
The Reds have been poor at the Etihad Stadium throughout the past 10 years, failing to win in the Premier League over that period.
But Sunday always felt different.
With City a shadow of their former selves, Liverpool were never going to get a better chance.
The Reds’ chances were heightened with the news that star striker Erling Haaland was not even fit enough to feature on the bench for Pep Guardiola’s team.
As for Liverpool, they boasted the Premier League’s current outstanding performer in Mohamed Salah.
And as he has been doing game after game lately, Salah made the difference again.
Another goal and another assist for the Egyptian King and watching on for Sky Sports, Gary Neville was left purring.

Salah has a brilliant record against Man City and in the form he’s currently in, he was always going to have a say on Sunday.
In the end it took the 32-year-old only 14 minutes to make the breakthrough.

On top of that, Salah matched Lionel Messi’s record of having got a goal and an assist in the same game 11 times during a season.
Finally, Mo became the best assister in a single season since the legendary Kenny Dalglish in 1985.
What a performance for Salah in a season truly littered with them.
