Conor Bradley’s journey to Liverpool’s first team has been a dream come true, one that’s only become more real with each passing game.
The Northern Ireland international’s recent performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup semifinal showed just how far he’s come.
The Reds were trailing 1-0 on aggregate when Bradley helped set up a crucial goal in a 4-0 victory that sent them to Wembley.
His involvement in the win was just another step in his rapid rise, but it’s clear that his time at Anfield still feels surreal.
It’s not just Bradley’s on-field contribution that stands out, but also his relationship with the fans.
For a young player, the overwhelming support from the Anfield faithful can be a lot to take in.
When his name was sung by the home crowd, it was another reminder of just how special his time at Liverpool is turning out to be.
It’s hard to imagine that any player would take that for granted.
Conor Bradley: It still blows my mind
Speaking after the match to the club’s official site, Bradley shared his excitement at reaching another Wembley final.
“Really, really happy.
Obviously we knew it was going to be a tough game and we’re just really glad to get the 4-0 win and get through to the final.”
“Really looking forward to the final now and hopefully we can bring another trophy home as well.”
“We just had to play the same football we have been playing… get that first goal, tick that off and then move on to the second.”
“Even when we scored the fourth goal, all the lads in the huddle were just saying ‘Go for more, go for more.’”
“That’s probably one of the best bits about this team, we’re just hungry for more and more.”
When asked about the fans singing his name at Anfield, he admitted it still feels surreal.
“It still blows my mind, I think it’ll blow my mind my whole career that I’m at this football club.”
“It’s so special and I’m so thankful for all the fans for all the support they give not only me but the whole team.
It’s obviously a special place to play football.”
Looking ahead to the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle, Bradley recognized the challenge ahead, “Of course it’ll be a tough game?
Newcastle are a really good team…”
“So we know it’ll be a tough game but we’re really looking forward to it and hopefully we can bring another trophy back home to Liverpool.”
Bradley’s maturity and focus are clear, as is his sense of appreciation for the journey he’s on.
For now, it seems like a dream come true, but he’s determined to keep pushing for more.
