Crystal Palace have sent Liverpool a cheeky social media message after their result against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Without even playing a ball, Liverpool took a step closer to a 20th league title thanks to Palace’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday.
Due to the Eagles’ FA Cup commitments at the weekend, the Gunners were in action on Wednesday.
But despite leading Oliver Glasner’s side twice in the night, they fell to a 2-2 draw, their 13th for the season.
As a result, the most points they can now get after 38 games this season is 79 points.
This means that Liverpool, who currently sit points ahead, can win the title if they draw with Tottenham on Sunday.
The Reds host Ange Postecoglou’s side on Sunday.
Should they avoid defeat in that game, they will be crowned champions of England for a record 20th time.
Having potentially helped Liverpool towards winning the Premier League title, the Palace social media admin sent a cheeky message to the club.
Taking to X after the draw at the Emirates, the Palace admin hilariously wrote “You’re Welcome Liverpool…”
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Palace manager Oliver Glasner had revealed he would field a strong team against the Gunners, despite having to play again at the weekend.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Glasner said:
“I never complain about fixtures, but this is not the best choice from the Premier League to have Villa play tonight and us tomorrow,” said the Eagles boss ahead of the clash
“It would be fair to have both teams play on the same day, either on Tuesday or Wednesday and at this stage of the season, it can influence, if you have two more days to rest.
“But we have to accept it, and I am pretty sure we will be ready as a club.”
“We have to look at what’s best and which players are in the best shape,e but that doesn’t mean we will make 10 changes tomorrow,” added Glasner.
“I expect both teams entering the pitch to win the game?
We expect Arsenal to play their strongest team.
“The fans deserve to see the best teams, and we will play with the best available team tomorrow.”
