Curtis Jones and Anthony Gordon have shared a social media interaction after Liverpool managed to see of the Magpies at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Born and raised in Liverpool, Jones (Liverpool Academy) and Gordon (Liverpool Academy until age 11) faced off in youth derbies before uniting for England’s U15-U21 teams.

Gordon’s family—diehard Liverpool supporters—reportedly cheered against his Everton youth goals.

The pair’s relationship strengthened at the u21 European Championships in the summer of 2023, with both instrumental in bringing the title back to English shores.

Furthermore, both players have openly admitted that they are best friends with one another, with Gordon saying on an episode of the Overlap last year:

“I’d say I’ve got three,” he told host and Manchester United legend Gary Neville.

“Curtis Jones, Tommy Doyle, Elliot Anderson.

Some club, some international.”

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones has also referred to Gordon as one of his best friends in football, saying to the BBC when quizzed on the topic:

“Anthony Gordon.

I’ve got a few but just because I’m here on camp, yeah, it’s there,” he said.

“I mean if you want me to give you a list I’d say Anthony, Cody, Ryan and Konate,” Jones explained.

After the Liverpool win last night, Curtis Jones and Anthony Gordon were seen engaged in a close conversation, their arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders in what appeared to be a heartfelt exchange.

Jones posted the image on his Instagram story with the caption: “My brother” with a heart and link emoji to which Gordon reposted on his own profile.
