Darwin Nunez has allegedly called out his lack of game-time at Liverpool this season in a now deleted post on social media.
The Uruguayan is widely expected to leave the Reds this summer, having failed to cement a starting place under Arne Slot.
While the striker has made 42 appearances this season, only 17 have come from the start.
Meanwhile, struggling in front of goal, he has only scored seven times with just five coming in the Premier League.
And in a cryptic post that was shared on X, then seemingly deleted straight away, Nunez seemingly took aim at his situation at the club.

He allegedly wrote: “No wonder I didn’t play more, because the last game I started in the Premier League went well and suddenly…”
Nunez’s deleted post appears to be a reference to recent reports in Portugal claiming he was not being selected for financial reasons, with Benfica reportedly owed €5m following the forward’s next start.
The ECHO understands, though, there is no suggestion the player is being omitted for financial reasons, with Slot himself also dismissing such a suggestion at his latest pre-match press conference.
"Do you always believe what journalists say?
(take it with a pinch of salt).”
Nunez scored on his last Premier League start in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Southampton last month, but has made just four substitute appearances since.
He missed a decisive penalty in the Reds’ Champions League shootout exit to Paris Saint-Germain and was left out of the matchday squad altogether for Liverpool’s win over West Ham United earlier this month.
Slot would claim his absence was because of illness as he later denied claims that the striker had been dropped following a falling out with a member of staff.
But while Nunez was restored to the matchday squad for last weekend’s victory over Leicester City, he was left as an unused substitute as the Reds chased a late winner.
Meanwhile, Slot previously called out Nunez for his work-rate in meetings with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa back in February, with the striker coming under-fire for missing an open goal in the 2-2 draw with the Villans.

Nunez started the season behind Diogo Jota in the pecking order before the Portuguese was struck down by injury in October.
While initially handed his opportunity, Slot soon reverted to playing Luis Diaz centrally ahead of the 25-year-old.
And now both players appear to be ahead of Nunez, with Diaz starting upfront in place of Jota for last weekend’s win over Leicester.
Nunez’s deleted post came less than 36 hours before Liverpool can clinch the Premier League title with a draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
