Darwin Nunez has said winning his first Premier League title is a 'dream come true'.
For all his critics, the Liverpool striker has had his hand in some important moments along the journey, and continues to receive support from fellow Uruguayan and former Reds hero Luis Suarez.
Bought almost three years ago from Benfica in a club-record deal, Nunez has had ups and downs playing under Jurgen Klopp and then this season for Arne Slot.
Criticism has fallen his way for a lack of consistency in front of goal, but contributions at the most crucial times against the likes of Brentford and Southampton mean that the 25-year-old was deserving of his place amongst Sunday's title celebrations at Anfield.
Now the striker has taken to social media again in the aftermath of a whirlwind period for all associated with the club to issue a heartfelt thank you to his believers.

"Dream come true: my first Premier League title [trophy emoji]," began the caption of his Instagram post.

Nunez got a run-out from the 83rd minute onwards during Sunday's title-confirming win over Tottenham.
Unfortunately he was unable to join fellow forwards Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet.

It almost came to pass, though in one final-minute counter he squared to Salah when the opportunity to shoot seemed most wise and then in the next instance he unleashed from a tight angle when the chance to set up a better-positioned teammate had opened up.
That has often been the story of frustrations with Nunez, who in return appeared to let loose with his own resentments 24 hours before the latest fixture.
In what appeared to be a deleted post to X, the striker allegedly hit out over his lack of game time with 17 starts made in 43 total appearances in 2024/25.
The end product of all of this taking place throughout the season has been an uncertain future with Liverpool expected to dip into the transfer market for new blood for the forward line.
Throughout all of this, Nunez's biggest supporter remains his 'idol', fellow Uruguayan Suarez, who now over a decade ago was in tears when his Liverpool side faltered on the path to winning an English league title but is still ingrained in Anfield folklore as a hero of the period.
Nunez's previous posts across various social media channels after the Spurs match had read: "Premier League champion, let them tell it however they want."

On X, Suarez replied: "GOLEADOR!
