Didi Hamann has suggested Liverpool could benefit use misfiring forward Darwin Nunez as a makeweight to sign Jamie Gittens this summer.
The Uruguay international has netted just seven goals in 42 games across all competitions this season and slipped down Arne Slot's pecking order.

On the other hand, Gittens has managed to score twelve times in 43 matches, despite also facing his own challenges maintaining consistent form.
Yet Hamann thinks the 20-year-old - who is reportedly valued somewhere between £65million and £80million - would be a wise acquisition for his former club.
"One option that could work is Jamie Gittens and Darwin Nunez in a swap deal between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund," the former Bayern Munich midfielder told InstantCasino.
"Gittens started the season on fire and was almost carrying the team for the first three months of the season.
"Since the new manager arrived he has found things a bit hard and not started many games, because the new manager is looking for the hardest workers.
But I would say that Gittens and Nunez in a swap deal is not that far fetched."
Any potential trade wouldn't be like-for-like as Nunez is primarily a centre forward, while Gittens shines on the left wing.
The Dutch international has an impressive record this season with 16 goals and six assists in 42 games, just one strike away from setting a new personal best at Anfield.
Despite his hefty transfer fee, Nunez seems to have lost favour under Slot this season.
