Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has reiterated his belief that Darwin Nunez should sign for the Reds' title rivals Arsenal if he moves on from Anfield after three seasons in the summer.
Nunez has scored just four Premier League goals this season and missed an open goal at Villa Park which could have added two more points to Liverpool's total for the campaign.
"I think the team (Arsenal) is well equipped, but the lack of a center forward is obviously what I think harms their chances," Hamann told Prime Casino.
Darwin Nunez of Liverpool reacts at full-time following the Premier League match between Aston Villa FC and Liverpool FC at Villa Park.
"You could maybe win a cup with a bit of luck and you can win the Champions League without being the best team, but in the Premier League you need to be the best and without a center forward there are few teams in history to have won that way.
"You can look at Pep Guardiola’s teams who had the best wingers in the world or teams with the likes of Neymar or Lionel Messi, but Arsenal need a presence
Arsenal need a quick center forward to give them another option
I think their struggles going forward are down to a lack of physical presence."
