Ex-Premier League referee David Coote has received a one-year UEFA ban from officiating.

This incident is said to have occurred at the 2024 European Championships where Coote had been an official.

UEFA, after assigning an ethics investigator to examine the matter, imposed a stringent penalty on Coote, forbidding him from refereeing on the continent until at least the upcoming summer.

In a statement about the sanctions, UEFA's football authority declared: "Mr David Coote Incidents and sanction: General principles of conduct, Art.
