Heading into Sunday’s game against Tottenham, all the talk should be of how Liverpool are going to win the Premier League title.
The Reds have been mostly brilliant this season and stand just one draw away from their 20th English league title.
However, while there is a fair amount of discourse surrounding Liverpool’s imminent coronation, there is also a sideshow continuing to develop off the pitch.
After his goal – and wild celebration – against Leicester on Sunday, Trent Alexander-Arnold has once again put himself into the spotlight.
Even before his late winner at the King Power Stadium, there had been talk amongst fans that Alexander-Arnold may stay.
And with a move to Real Madrid not yet confirmed, journalist David Ornstein has been answering whether Liverpool supporters are right to hold onto some hope that their No.66 might not leave after all.

Although Alexander-Arnold got his moment after coming off the bench on Sunday, it’s also fair to point out that not everyone was happy with him.
There were some audible boos from the away end as the right-back emerged from the bench.
Many would prefer he did not play for Liverpool again.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Having scored and put on such a show for the Liverpool fans, though, some may have felt themselves being pulled back in to the Alexander-Arnold saga.
Taking part in a Q&A for The Athletic, Ornstein may well have just burst that bubble, however.
Asked by a reader whether Liverpool are still attempting to keep Alexander-Arnold or whether he is a lost cause, the journalist simply reports what is expected to happen from here.

“As has been widely reported, Jack, he is expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent,” Ornstein answered.
Not a certain outcome, then, but about as certain as it’s possible to get in the world of football transfers.
With Alexander-Arnold now fit again, it will be fascinating to see how Arne Slot deals with him for the final five Liverpool fixtures of the season.
In our opinion, Slot must play Conor Bradley where possible as the Liverpool head coach tries to ascertain whether the youngster is good enough to be his starting right-back.
Alexander-Arnold will be champing at the bit to play, his cameo against Leicester proved that, but he should not be given his golden farewell simply because he wants it.
This is still a player who is turning his back on the club at the peak of his powers on a free transfer no less.
Slot has to do what is best for Liverpool and, right now, that means planning for the future.
A future Alexander-Arnold has chosen not to be a part of.
It will be hugely sad to see the Liverpool academy graduate part ways with the club of his life – and under a real cloud as well – but, as a wise person once said, that’s football.
