David Ornstein confirms transfer plan for Liverpool-linked Omar Marmoush

David Ornstein has provided his latest on Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush, 25, has been in exceptional form this season, netting 13 goals and providing seven assists in 12 Bundesliga appearances.

Standing at 183 cm, Marmoush is known for his versatility in the attacking third, capable of playing as a center-forward or on either wing.

He possesses exceptional dribbling skills, pace, and a keen eye for goal, making him a constant threat to opposing defences.

Sky Germany as well as national newspaper BILD have linked the Egyptian to Anfield.

Of course, Marmoush has naturally drawn comparisons with Mohamed Salah due to playing in similar positions and coming from the same nation.

However, Liverpool’s No.11 wants to steer clear of such comparisons, saying at a recent event in Sharjah, UAE:

“There are not many players from Egypt and the Arab countries who went to Europe and fought for success, and Marmoush is one of them,” Salah said.

“I see that he has great potential, he is an important player for his team and the national team, I want to stay away from him the idea of comparisons to make his life easier.”

“I want people to stop comparing him to me, by saying that he will be the new Salah and will do what he did and overcome, that will put him under pressure all the time and does not help the player.”

Although he may not be like Salah in terms of playstyle, he seems to be ready to announce himself on the big stage -much like Salah did ahead of his move to Liverpool.

What did David Ornstein say about Omar Marmoush?

The transfer expert revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt expects the Egypt international to leave in the next summer transfer window, and would sanction a big money sale for their star man:

“Eintracht Frankfurt expect Omar Marmoush to leave in the summer when he will have two years left on his contract,” Ornstein wrote in The Transfer Radar.

“They would prefer not to lose him in January, but you never know what offers might land at the club.”

The Athletic reporter did not mention Liverpool however, but also pointed out the possible fee a paying club would have to offer:

“There is an anticipation that he will end up at a Champions League side — there is interest from Bayern Munich in Germany, Juventus and Napoli in Italy and some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are set to join the race for the Egypt international”

“The fee for Marmoush is expected to be between €40million and €50m (£33m and £42m).”

For that kind of price, it would seem strange for the Reds to not be interested in the 25-year-old.

But it is also understood that an offensive player would have to depart Anfield for Marmoush to be considered, as seven options for three positions in Arne Slot’s side would seem unfeasible.
