Liverpool fans are eagerly anticipating the January transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
Under Arne Slot, the Reds have been solid so far, but there’s a sense that a few new signings could elevate the team to another level.
One area of concern has been the forward line.
Darwin Nunez has shown inconsistency, while Diogo Jota’s recurring fitness issues have raised questions about depth.
With Liverpool aiming to compete on multiple fronts, supporters are keen to see a new attacker brought in.
Among the many names linked with Liverpool, Omar Marmoush has stood out.
The Egyptian forward has been in sensational form for Eintracht Frankfurt, sparking speculation about a potential move to Anfield.
Marmoush has scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists in just 23 appearances this season, making him one of Europe’s most in-form players.
However, not all reports suggest a move to Liverpool is likely.
David Ornstein provides update on Liverpool and Omar Marmoush
Journalist David Ornstein recently addressed the rumors on The Athletic’s YouTube channel.
While he acknowledged Marmoush’s strong season and potential for a transfer, Ornstein downplayed the chances of him joining Liverpool.
“I can definitely see a move,” Ornstein said when discussing Marmoush’s future.
“We think that Eintracht Frankfurt are looking in the region of 40 to 50 million Euros.”
When asked specifically about Liverpool, Ornstein dismissed the connection.
“There have been reports in the media about Liverpool, I don’t know of that, that’s not information I have?
I’m certainly not aware of conversations on that front.”
For now, it appears Marmoush is not a priority target for the Reds.
They face off against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow in the English Premier League in a bid to extend their lead at the top of the table.
The game kicks off at 16:30 GMT.
