Liverpool have emerged as strong contenders to sign Bournemouth’s teenage defensive sensation Dean Huijsen, with the club’s hierarchy  examing the prospect of activating his£50 million release clause this summer.

The 19-year-old Spaniard has become one of Europe’s most coveted prospects after a breakout Premier League campaign, prompting a transfer tussle that could redefine the Reds’ backline for years.

Standing at 6’5” with rare technical proficiency, Huijsen has dazzled scouts with his composure under pressure and two-footed versatility.

Bournemouth’s willingness to negotiate swiftly aligns with the Reds’ preference for early summer business.

Earlier this week, both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have agreed that the defender is a Liverpool target.

Romano explained on his YouTube channel this week that Real Madrid have yet to make a decision about whether they will pursue a new centre-back this summer, leaving Dean Huijsen’s future open to other possibilities.

While Huijsen is reportedly keen on a move to Madrid, the Spanish giants remain undecided about investing in defensive reinforcements.

This uncertainty has prompted Premier League clubs—including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal—to intensify their efforts to sign Dean Huijsen

And if that wasn’t good news enough, the player himself defintely is aware of the immense stature of Liverpool Football Club, and has now revealed that it is ‘not easy’ to represent the Anfield club.

When quizzed on his feelings on Liverpool on the Papa Pincus podcast, the 20-year-old has certainly got some Reds fans excited:

“I don’t think it’s easy to play for Liverpool, it’s not,” he said on the Papa Pincus podcast.

“There’s pressure, there’s the whole world looking at you, there’s Champions League, Premier League.”

“You need to be good, like proper good to hold your own.”

It’s far from the first time the Spanish international has nodded in Liverpool’s direction.

Recently, he namedropped Joel Matip as the defender he feels is the most underrated:

“It’s a good question?

Obviously, I’m young, so I haven’t seen much of the past, but from what I have seen, maybe Joel Matip,” Huijsen said.

“He did it for so long, he was playing with Van Dijk,” he added.
