Redknapp’s phrasing was interesting.
Grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck was something a certain Steven Gerrard used to be lauded for time after time.
The manner in which the World Cup winner came to the fore – and indeed slammed in a beauty – was reminiscent of their former captain.
On a day when Liverpool needed a hero, they ultimately got themselves several.
But when this day is looked back upon in years to come, it should not be forgotten that Mac Allister was the one who truly drove Liverpool forward and towards another title.
