Liverpool are heading into a crucial stretch of the season, and every player needs to step up.

The Reds have stumbled in recent games, failing to beat Everton and Plymouth Argyle.

With the Premier League title race heating up, there is no room for more slip-ups.

One player who knows this well is Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese forward has had a frustrating season with injuries, missing eight weeks earlier in the campaign and then picking up another setback last month.

But now, he is back and finding his rhythm again.

Jota has already made three appearances since returning and is looking sharper with each game.

His presence in attack gives Liverpool another weapon, and he could play a key role in getting the team back on track.

Next up for Liverpool is Wolves, a team Jota knows very well.

Before moving to Anfield in 2020, he played 131 games for Wolves and scored 44 goals.

He still has good friends at the club, but he will not let that affect him.

This is about Liverpool getting back to winning ways.

And Jota has made it clear, he is ready to go.

Diogo Jota fires warning ahead of Wolves clash

“Especially after the first one [injury], it was a long time out, it requires time,” Jota told Liverpoolfc.com.

“Now it was a quick one and every game it’s a step forward into the game rhythm.

I want to be able to help the team as much as I can.

I’m ready to go.”

The schedule is tough, but Jota knows everyone will have a role to play.

“Everyone will have the chance because there’s a tough schedule.

So, everyone’s going to be a big help for the team and hopefully everyone can contribute.”

Facing his former club adds an extra layer to the game.

“It’s obviously always special against Wolves for me,” he said.

“I know their ability, I still have some good friends there and they won’t make it any easier for us.”

“We need to make a good performance and with our fans behind us, I think we can win.”

Liverpool need a response after recent results, and Jota believes this is the perfect opportunity.

“This is going to be a tough period, we have a lot of games coming up and that’s the good thing, if things don’t go well, obviously you have a quick chance to turn it around very quickly.”

“It’s not been great and we, as a team, need to bounce back.

I think the commitment of the team was very good and small margins didn’t allow us to get those three points.”

“But now at home with our fans, I believe we need to get back on track and we certainly can do.”

Jota has sent his message?

Liverpool must respond.
