The list, put together by the CIES Football Observatory, considers the length of a player's contract.
With Haaland expected to remain at the Etihad until 2034, they estimate his worth to be around £188million-£239m – which could challenge Neymar's £200m switch to PSG in 2017 if he were to depart.

With Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold's contracts all due to end, the Reds' most expensive player is said to be Ryan Gravenberch (£71m-£90m).

While Newcastle United have reportedly set a £150m asking price for Alexander Isak, CIES believes a figure between £70m and £89m is more realistic.

In another unexpected turn, Bournemouth rank eighth with Ilya Zabarnyi.
The Ukrainian's centre-back partner Dean Huijsen has been making headlines this season, but the Spaniard's £50m release clause is surpassed by his teammate's £52m-£67m valuation, having only extended his contract on the south coast last summer.
