Simon Jordan is adamant that Eddie Howe is not the man Newcastle want at the helm long-term - even though he could end the club's 70-year domestic trophy drought this weekend.
The Magpies have reached the Carabao Cup final for the second time in three years and are out to win their first major English trophy since lifting the FA Cup all the way back in 1955 when they lock horns with Liverpool on Sunday.
Howe has widely been commended for the fine job he's done at St.
James' Park since his appointment back in November 2021 and has already taken the club back into the Champions League after re-establishing them in the upper echelons of the league.
But Jordan is convinced that Howe remains a 'gatekeeper' at the club and that their backers, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, will eventually give him the boot.

While Jordan doesn't see Newcastle and Howe staying together in the long run, the 47-year-old would go down in Magpies history if he can outwit Arne Slot and Liverpool on Sunday afternoon under Wembley's famous arch.
And coming so close to winning a major trophy in 2023, Howe is hungry to make the most of this opportunity to do what they couldn't against Manchester United.
Speaking last month, he said: “It’s a long time [since the club won a trophy].
