TALK ABOUT A BOLT FROM THE BLUE!

The Bees take the lead, and it's a scorcher.

After being dominated from the first whistle, the Bees win possession in the Fulham half.

Christian Norgaard finds Mikkel Damsgaard, and he picks out Vitaly Janelt, who is 25-yards-out.

He takes a touch and hits a beautiful shot with his left that crashes into the back of the net and stuns Craven Cottage.

What a lovely move!

Emile Smith Rowe starts things off with a pass to Sander Berge.

He finds Reiss Nelson, who rolls the ball into Antonee Robinson.

The American international spots the run of Smith Rowe and picks him out.

The ex-Arsenal man strides into the box and sees his goal-bound effort blocked behind for a corner that Mark Flekken grabs.

Nelson then wriggles his way free in the box and thunders a strike wide of the near post from just inside the box.

The hosts have started this game very well.

They are pressing aggressively and getting numbers forward into the box.

The home crowd are also well up for it, making for a lively atmosphere from both sets of fans.

However, for all their good play, there has yet to be a clear chance despite Mark Flekken making two straightforward saves.

After a beautifully observed minute's silence for Remembrance Day, this match under the lights at Craven Cottage gets underway.

The Bees get the game going.

They are wearing their green change kit, while the hosts are in white tops and black shorts.

At the start of the day, Edu Gaspar's future wasn't even a talking point, but the Gunners have just confirmed that he's leaving the club immediately.

talkSPORT understands that the Brazilian has an agreement with Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos owner, Evangelos Marinakis.

Edu became unsettled in north London due to a change in structure at the club, leading to Stan Kroenke's lawyer, Tim Lewis, starting to gain more power.

In the statement, Arsenal confirm that Edu has resigned as the club's Sporting Director.

The statement reads as follows: "Edu Gaspar has today resigned from his position as our Sporting Director.

"Edu, our former player and Invincible, re-joined us in the role of Technical Director in July 2019.

The Arsenal sporting director looks set to leave the Gunners and begin a role in Marinakis' multi-club system.

The Greek businessman owns Forest, Olympiakos and Portguese side Rio Ave.

Edu is believed to have been unsettled by a restructuring in the boardroom at the Emirates and in particular the growing influence of owner Stan Kroenke's lawyer, Tim Lewis.

Sources have told talkSPORT that Arsenal wanted the Brazilian to stay until the summer, but he declined.

The club have been taken surprise by the timing of his depature.

But Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to have offered him a role overseeing his group of clubs.

Edu has been a key ally for Gunner manager Mikel Arteta in helping him build a title-challenging squad.

The former midfielder - a member of the Invincibles squad of 2003/2004 - is considered as one of the top sporting directors in world football right now.

After joining Arsenal as a technical director, the Brazilian was Promoted to become the club's first-ever sporting director in 2022.

Edu has played a key role in their recruitment of players who have become crucial members of Arteta's team, including Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and William Saliba.

Interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy is looking forward to getting to know Ruben Amorim better and has offered to help the new head coach and Manchester United in any way he can.

Having returned to the club he shone for as a player in the summer as one of Erik ten Hag's assistants, the fan favourite is temporarily filling in as manager following his compatriot's sacking on Monday.

Van Nistelrooy oversaw a 5-2 Carabao Cup win over Leicester on Wednesday and a 1-1 Premier League draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim begins his new role in England a week on Monday and will bring in his own staff but Van Nistelrooy is hoping to remain part of the backroom team.

"Like I said on Wednesday, I came here to help as an assistant, as a coach and in this bit as well as an interim for a short spell," the caretaker boss said.

"Then, again, in any capacity willing to help, so in that sense I'm open for this future.

"We all will be backing him and helping him to get Manchester United to where we all want it to be and I think that spirit is the most important to have.

Meanwhile, their total of nine goals is their fewest at this stage of a league season since 1973-74 (also nine).

In that 73/74 campaign, Man United ended up being relegated from the First Division.

Amorim will get to work at Old Trafford from November 11 and his task will be to turn things around after a very, very poor start.

It's game over in Manchester!

The points are shared after Bruno Fernandes' penalty is cancelled out by a superb Moises Caicedo volley.

Ruud van Nistelrooy avoids defeat in his opening Premier League game as interim manager.

However, his side remain 13th in the top flight after the draw.

For Chelsea, they now sit in fourth and move above rivals Arsenal after the Gunners slipped up yesterday.

After a sluggish first half, things picked up in the second and it was certainly an intriguing contest at Old Trafford.
