England centre-back John Stones is eyeing 100 caps for the Three Lions.

The Manchester City centre-back is currently on 81, meaning he's matched Rio Ferdinand's tally.

However, after seeing Harry Kane hit 100 caps last month, Stones has now set that as a goal.

Speaking ahead of the England squad announcement, he said: "There is a lot left in the tank.

“Yeah, 100 percent.

"I got told I got level with Rio [Ferdinand] on 81, that is a massive achievement for me personally and it is a bit strange to say.”

talkSPORT understands that Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is also in the England squad for the upcoming Nations League games.

The 21-year-old currently has three senior Three Lions caps and last appeared for his country in Lee Carsley's first two games as manager.

He played the full 90 minutes against the Republic of Ireland before coming on as a substitute in the win over Finland.

Colwill is a player that Carsley knows well from the Under-21 set-up, and with him now thriving at Chelsea, it appears he's set to be a key part of the England team under the interim boss.

England manager Lee Carsley will unveil his squad for the upcoming Nations League games against Greece and Finland at 2pm today.

The interim boss got off to a great start in September with back-to-back wins over the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

The Three Lions won both games and didn't concede a goal, while the football was enterprising and bright.

talkSPORT understands that Dominic Solanke has earned a first call-up to the senior squad, but there is no place for James Maddison and Harry Maguire.

Meanwhile, after a disappointing start to the campaign, Jarrod Bowen is the man to miss out for Solanke, who has two goals for Tottenham this season.

talkSPORT's Adrian Durham believes that Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is ready to play for England.

Spurs' record £65million signing won his only senior England cap in a friendly against Brazil in 2017.

He has made many appearances in numerous age groups for his country and was part of their Under-20 World Cup-winning campaign in 2017.

Enzo Maresca has stood by his decision to axe Ben Chilwell from Chelsea's Conference League squad - insisting he has no regrets.

The Blues boss has shown his ruthless side since replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge dugout in the summer by freezing out a number of players.

It resulted in Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and Kepa Arrizabalaga all being shipped out.

But Chilwell remained on the club's books following the summer transfer window - despite being offered to Chelsea's Premier League rivals.

And he was one of many high-profile stars in the Chelsea dressing room to be left out of the League stage of their Conference League squad.

Despite being included in their Premier League squad, he has failed to even make the bench in any of their opening six top-flight matches.

Ahead of the club's Conference League opener against Belgian outfit Gent on Thursday night, Maresca was asked whether he has any regrets over his decision to omit him from their squad list.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he simply stated: "No.

Bukayo Saka may be one of Arsenal's world class players - but he's not the club's most important star.

That's the view of ex-Tottenham striker Darren Bent, who believes that honour belongs to striker Kai Havertz.

The German forward brought up his fifth goal of the season in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking on talkSPORT Drive, Arsenal fan Bent waxed lyrical over the ex-Chelsea man, who has reinvented himself at the Emirates.

He said: "There's an argument now that he's Arsenal's most important player - and that includes Saka.

"He can play in a number of positions, as a No.9, a No.8, he's comfortable in possession.

"He scores goals, he's brave, the most league goals he ever got for Chelsea in a season was eight and the most assists he got in a season was three.

"He got 13 [for Arsenal] last season, seven assists, he's become vital, he's just score three games on the bounce.

"He just looks a big physical presence, and that's what I like about him for Arsenal, where Arsenal try and play it out from the back, there's time where the press is on, you can't do it, but you can clip the ball to him, he takes it on his chest, he battles for it, he wins the header, he brings it down, he brings others into play."

He added: "His ability is not limited to just scoring goals, he can do everything."

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour is quietly confident that the Gunners will win a trophy this season.

I’m delighted with the result and how I played.

“I’ve had a very slow start to the season with a bit of illness and a bit of fatigue, but I’m getting back into it now and feeling more like myself.”

Foden will now hope to start and shine again as City face Fulham in Premier League on Saturday before the upcoming international break.

He added: “I am obviously confident and believe in the team but this season teams have played the same way, where they defend on the edge of the box and it’s been difficult to break them down.

“Hopefully we can find new ways to break it down and score goals
