The Scot is apparently keen on launching a summer move for Ben Doak, who could be set to depart Anfield this summer for around £25million with several Premier League clubs circling.
Doak, 19, has spent the season on loan at Middlesbrough and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
The youngster has attracted interest from Crystal Palace in the past, but reports suggest he follows the likes of Peter Beardsley in walking the rarely-trodden path from one side of Liverpool to the other.
The Sun report Doak is one of the Toffees’ top targets as they look to bring in a wide player, despite already having Jack Harrison, Dwight McNeil and Jesper Lindstrom.
The 62-year-old has hinted he wants to recruit promising young players to develop as Everton move into their new 52,888-seater home at Bramley Moore Dock and the report claims Moyes is a ‘huge fan’ of Doak’s ability.
The Scotland international had been earmarked for a bright future at Liverpool during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, before a knee operation curtailed his progress in the 2023-24 season.
But with Klopp’s successor Arne Slot planning to spend big this summer to bolster his squad, the teenager could be sacrificed by Liverpool to free up money.
Everton may face a battle from Bournemouth for his signature, and in the event of a two-way fight between the clubs, Liverpool may well favour letting him join the Cherries rather than their city rivals.
Doak was poached from Scottish champions Celtic for just £600,000 when he was 16 years of age.
He made his debut for Liverpool when he came on as a 74th minute substitute in a 3-2 penalty shoot-out win against Derby County in the Carabao Cup and signed a professional deal - just days after his 17th birthday.
However, he has only featured 10 times for the Reds since his arrival - most of his appearances have come from the bench or in cup competitions.
Now, he faces a tall order in fighting for his place with Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott all ahead in the pecking order.
