A former youngster, who played for Liverpool and Tottenham has revealed why the Reds are a more special club than the North London club.

Liverpool are one of the most iconic clubs in the world, with over a century of enviable history.

Not only is Liverpool as a club iconic, the city is also one of the most historic cities in the UK, with a rich mix of history and culture.

This combination has made Liverpool FC a special club.

It has also made wearing the red jersey an even more special feeling.

Several players have played for the club in its long history, and the report when they leave Liverpool has always been positive.

One player, who had a taste of what is feels like to live in the city of Liverpool and play for Liverpool Football Club is Kevin Stewart.

The English-born midfielder, spent three years at Liverpool after joining from Tottenham.

A very combative midfielder, who was highly-rated at the club, the 31-year-old made eleven appearances for Liverpool, before departing for Hull City in 2017.

Having tasted what it feels like to play in Liverpool and Tottenham, Stewart knows first hand the difference between both clubs and recently shared his thoughts on both sides.

Speaking about his time at Liverpool and Tottenham, Stewart revealed what made the Reds more special than Spurs.

“I would say the feel of Liverpool, and the camaraderie to a degree… like, it’s just more of a family vibe,” Stewart said in a podcast clip shared on Reddit.

“Once you play for Liverpool, you’re just kind of accepted into this sense of family and community.

“Both of them ran as businesses, but Spurs ran like more of a business, you felt like more of a player.

At Liverpool it was a bit different, it felt like you were really a part of something.

The history of Liverpool is crazy, whether it’s The Beatles, the club itself, the history is strong, everyone knows there is a strong sense of history.

“Tottenham isn’t really like that.

You’re in London but there’s just no real history there (in Tottenham), but in Liverpool, the whole place is Liverpool (Football Club), you don’t even see Everton fans, I’d see one every now and then, but everything’s Liverpool (Football Club), you’re a part of that.

“If you play for the club, you’re a part of that.

If you go into the shop and there’s a Scouser there, you know you’re probably going to get looked after the best.”

Stewart also added that moving to Liverpool changed his perception of the city, as he initially had doubts about the kind of people he might encounter there.

He added: “I loved Liverpool as a club but I didn’t have the best idea of Liverpool as a place and people, but yeah when you get there… everywhere you go, you’re going to get two ends of the spectrum, you’re going to get the amazing people, you’re going to get the s— people, but in Liverpool you do see a lot of the good people a lot more.

“They are really good people, a lot more friendly than people in London, they all see themselves as each other, whereas in London you’re just random, you don’t really care who that is, you don’t see each other as the same, there’s nothing that links you to him, but in Liverpool you’re all linked to Liverpool, so that’s where that family feeling comes from.”
