It is 'crazy' how long Liverpool took to finalise Mohamed Salah's contract renewal, blasted former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson.
He expressed this viewpoint in response to Jamie Carragher's recent assessment of the situation.

All season long, uncertainty over Salah's future as a Liverpool player had threatened to distract from the Reds' ongoing Premier League title push.
Much to the relief of Arne Slot and Anfield chiefs, such talk has now been put to bed with the 32-year-old agreeing terms for a two-year extension.
This prompted club legend Jamie Carragher, writing in his Telegraph column, to comment how Liverpool have 'played a blinder' through their negotiations with the Egyptian.

Carragher touched on criticism of sporting director Richard Hughes, in his first season at Anfield, for the length of time it took to resolve Salah's contract.
Ultimately the pundit praised the due diligence undertaken before rewarding such lucrative terms to somebody who turns 33 in June.
But Borson, formerly of Man City, sees the matter from the flip side as a matter that should have seen a fairly simple and speedy conclusion, thus disagreeing with the Reds legend.
He told Football Insider: "I don’t accept what Jamie Carragher was saying about this being a good idea or not a good idea, but there was sort of nothing more that they could have done.
"I think it was frankly crazy to allow the situations to go all the way through to April," was his verdict having seen Salah net 32 goals and provide 23 assists across the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign so far - his best combined attacking return in eight seasons at Liverpool?
Yet with a hint of admiration, Borson concluded: "But it turned out okay in the end, and you know they’re clearly well placed again for next season."

Before that time arrives the Reds still must reach conclusions with captain Virgil van Dijk, 33, and vice captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, 26, over their soon-to-be expiring deals.
Both decisions will have an influence over what happens in the transfer market next, for which Van Dijk has already hinted: "Whatever happens in terms of players going out, players coming in, I think it should be a big summer.
"I think they're planning to make it a big summer, so we all have to trust the board as a Liverpool-connected fan to do the right job."
