Liverpool return to Premier League action this week, for the first time this month, as they prepare to meet Everton in the Merseyside derby.

That match against the Blues will be the Reds' first top-flight fixture since March 8, as they look to move a step closer to securing a 20th English top-flight title.

Arne Slot's squad are 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the Premier League summit.



Liverpool have nine matches left to play this season, starting with their clash against Everton on Wednesday night (8pm).

For much of the campaign, Liverpool have been listed as strong favourites to win the league title thanks to being top of the table.

Now a fresh prediction has emerged - rating the Reds' chances of winning the league - as well as what their final points tally will be.

Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and have predicted that Liverpool will win the Premier League ahead of Arsenal in second.

The Reds will apparently finish with 89 (88.94) points after 38 matches and have a 98.75 per cent chance of being crowned Premier League champions.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are tipped to finish with 77 (76.58) points - which would be 12 behind Liverpool.

The Gunners have been given a 1.25 per cent likelihood of overtaking the Reds to win the league title, with no other club being given a chance, according to the same prediction.

Nottingham Forest (third) and Manchester City (fourth) are predicted to complete the top-four spots and qualify for the Champions League.
