Mohamed Salah’s new Liverpool contract contains an option for an extra year’s stay at Anfield, Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal.
Salah has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with Liverpool officially announcing his extension on Friday morning.
The Egyptian’s previous agreement was due to run out this summer, while fresh terms will officially keep Salah at Anfield until 2027.
And RTK can reveal that on top of the two-year extension, the 32-year-old’s new contract also contains an option for a further 12 months.
Furthermore, Salah’s agreement is understood to carry a mechanism by which his time at Liverpool could be mutually ended after just one year.

Salah’s extension was greeted with glee by Liverpool supporters on Friday as the Reds tied down one of the best players in world football.
After a brilliant season in which the Egyptian has scored 32 goals and laid on 22 assists, keeping him at Anfield was a top priority for Liverpool.
But despite his committment to staying put, RTK understands that interest in Salah from Saudi Arabia has not gone away.

Salah had a contract on the table from the Pro League this summer, and sources indicate that the offer remains an open one.
There is an expectation that the legendary winger will arrive in Saudi Arabia at some stage in the future, with a belief that he will become the highest paid player in the league when he does so.

Meanwhile, Salah’s new contract at Liverpool is understood to have come with a slight pay-rise in terms of base pay.
Performances-related bonuses will also play an important part, with a Ballon d’Or clause weighted more heavily than in previous agreements.
With Salah now done and dusted, Liverpool are all set to announce the extension of Virgil van Dijk.
Like Salah, Van Dijk is expected to sign a two-year extension at Anfield, taking him up until the summer of 2027.
As of yet there is no indication as to whether the Dutchman’s new deal will contain the option of a further year.
In the meantime, Liverpool are understood to be preparing work on extending Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz and Curtis Jones’ agreements with the club.
