Liverpool could start to see some movement in the transfer window as teams continue to drop out of Euro 2024.

The summer international tournament – as well as the Copa America – have so far hindered the Reds’ ability to move freely in the market.

By this time last year Liverpool had already signed both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Nevertheless, Arne Slot could do with one or two new faces adding to the Liverpool squad.

One of those most heavily linked with the Reds this summer has been PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko.

Bakayoko had an excellent season with PSV leading to his inclusion in the Belgium squad for Euro 2024.

However, the 21-year-old only made two substitute appearances for the Red Devils at the tournament.

Bakayoko remained on the bench as Belgium were knocked out by France on Monday.

That will have been disappointing for Liverpool fans hoping to catch a proper glimpse of a player who has been described as ‘explosive.’

With claims that Bakayoko’s agent is in talks with interested clubs already, it seems likely that the forward will be on the move following his country’s exit.

Liverpool have regularly been touted as being one of the most interested in Bakayoko should he leave PSV.

But speaking ahead of Monday’s 1-0 defeat against France, the flying winger was not in the mood for giving much away.

As per quotes from Football London, Bakayoko was asked whether he’ll be moving on from PSV this summer and where he’ll be going.

“I don’t know if I’m going to leave PSV,” the youngster bluntly replied.

Having sat through an unusually quiet June in the transfer market, Liverpool supporters will be desperate for some more action in July.

This being the month that Slot gets to work at the AXA Training Centre with his new players, something needs to happen soon if it’s happening at all.

It must be said that Liverpool are far from being alone in waiting to get any business done.

With the summer internationals taking centre-stage, few Premier League teams have brought in any notable players.

With big teams now exiting the tournaments on a daily basis though, that should begin to change.

From the Reds’ point of view Bakayoko should not be the only one now free to discuss a transfer.
