Liverpool’s squad is shaping up under the management of Arne Slot, who has impressed in his first season at Anfield.
With the Reds currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, it seems the club could be planning to make moves in the transfer market soon.
While Slot hasn’t been overly active in the transfer window, he is said to be evaluating his squad and considering new additions.
Liverpool are known for their careful scouting and pursuit of quality players, and with a solid start to the season, many fans expect further reinforcements.
Now, a recent update from Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the club is indeed keeping a close eye on a Premier League defender who has been catching the eye of many top clubs.
But there’s more to this tale.
This player has been making waves with his consistent performances and has been linked with a move to Liverpool.
But who is he?
Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool interest in defender
Liverpool is interested in Antonee Robinson, Fulham’s American left-back.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have indeed been monitoring Robinson’s progress but are more inclined towards younger targets.
Romano stated while speaking on the Men In Blazers YouTube channel, “For Antonee Robinson, what I’m hearing is that it’s true that Liverpool have been following him but their preference is more for younger players.”
He also mentioned that while age could play a role in any potential move, Robinson’s quality has not gone unnoticed.
Romano added, “Age can be a factor in this deal but let’s see because he’s doing fantastic.”
However, Romano also noted that a move for Robinson is not likely in January, as Fulham are keen to keep him until the end of the season.
The player’s performances, especially his recent showing against Mohamed Salah and Liverpool, have certainly made an impression.
But as Romano pointed out, “I don’t think it’s one for January – Fulham want to keep him until the end of the season, especially manager Marco Silva.”
