Reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided fresh updates on Liverpool’s reported interest in Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

On Thursday, The Athletic reported that Liverpool are monitoring Kvaratskhelia over a possible transfer in the winter or summer.

According to reliable journalist David Ornstein, “Liverpool could consider a move to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli — should it be decided that he is to exit the club in this transfer window.

“Liverpool are not specifically chasing a player of Kvaratskhelia’s profile, but he is somebody they admire, are keeping tabs on and will be ready to contend for if it becomes a market opportunity,” the report said.

The news came somewhat out of the blues as Liverpool are currently well-stocked in attack.

Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah are all options in attack for Liverpool.

However, the possible availability of Kvaratskhelia has alerted Liverpool?

The Reds are yet to make a transfer this winter, but consider the Napoli winger a player that will improve their squad.

The Georgian international, who is just 23-year-old played a huge part in Napoli’s run to the Serie A title two seasons ago.

Known for his dazzling dribbling skills and contribution in the attacking third, Kvaratskhelia’ is a player that will certainly improve Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano has now provided further update on Liverpool’s interest in the Georgian winger.

What Fabrizio Romano said about Liverpool interest in Kvaratskhelia

Speaking on his YouTube channel Fabrizo Romano clarified that Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain are currently the only club in direct negotiation over the Janaury signing of Kvaratskhelia.

However, he did mention that there is interest from unnamed Premeir League clubs for the Napoli winger.

“There is interest from the Premier League for Kvaratskhelia but as of now, as it can change, the only club approaching Napoli is Paris Saint-Germain,” Romano said.

“There’s a direct negotiation between both clubs, with an important contract offered to the player.”
