Earlier this week, both David Ornstein and Romano agreed that the defender is a Liverpool target.

After revealing that Real Madrid, who were initially thought to be in the forefront of the race for Huijsen, may no longer be interested in the player, given their priorities this summer, Romano has now provided an even more positive update on the player that will excite fans.

Speaking on GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast, the journalist reiterated that Madrid are yet to decide whether to sign a new centre-back, while Liverpool will ‘try to reach an agreement with Dean Huijsen and his camp’ in the next few weeks.

“I’m hearing that internally at Real Madrid, they have still not decided whether they want to sign a centre-back or not in the summer, how much they want to spend,” the journalist said.

“They have Raul Asencio at the club, who is doing very well.

So that’s why Real Madrid are not so convinced, not about Huijsen, but about signing a new centre-back in the summer.

And this is why the timing is helping the English clubs.

“So Liverpool will be there, Arsenal will be there, and Chelsea will be there.

And I’m sure that all these three clubs will push and push again in the next days, weeks, to try reach an agreement with Dean Huijsen and his camp.”
