Fabrizio Romano has commented on one Liverpool transfer window after an eventful weekend of Premier League action.
Liverpool edged Crystal Palace 1-0 in a tense Premier League encounter where the Reds ought to have won by a bigger margin.
Diogo Jota’s ninth-minute goal, an instinctive poachers finish strike inside the box, proved to be the match-winner.
Despite Palace’s late efforts to equalize, Liverpool’s defense held firm, ensuring their lead at the top of the table.
An injury to Alisson Becker did little to raise the mood after the win, with 23-year-old Viteslav Jaros doing well when he came on for a late Liverpool debut.
The match also marked Arne Slot’s fourth consecutive away win as manager, solidifying the Reds’ strong start to the season.
Palace remains winless, sitting near the bottom of the table.
Now the Italian transfer guru has remarked on a Reds transfer rumour that has been doing the rounds recently.
Fabrizio Romano responds to Liverpool transfer link
Last week, we relayed reports from SportsBILD claiming that the Anfield club were very interested in SC Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl.
A highly regarded young midfielder for SC Freiburg, the 22-year-old has built a reputation for his versatility and technical prowess on the pitch.
Rohl is a unique combination of skill and physicality in center midfield at 1.92 meters (6’3?).
He is often likened to Leon Goretzka due to his capacity to impact both ends of the play.

Christian Falk, head reporter for BILD, suggested that the new contract Rohl signed in mid-September was a response by Freiburg to the interest of Liverpool.
Now Fabrizio Romano has commented on these reports, saying to Give Me Sport:
” I’ve seen the stories about Liverpool’s interest in Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl, but at the moment I don’t have confirmation on Liverpool working on this deal,” he said.
“Liverpool’s focus is currently on different areas, but also for Rohl at the moment there are no concrete contacts ongoing.”
“Richard Hughes has fantastic knowledge of talents so I’m sure he’s monitoring many players but that’s it now.”
Rohl is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, which could delay any potential move until next summer.
Freiburg, aware of the interest from top clubs like Liverpool, has already moved to extend Rohl’s contract, although the specifics of this new deal remain undisclosed.
The Bundesliga side’s swift action to secure the midfielder’s future is likely a response to the growing interest from Premier League scouts.
