Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Virgil van Dijk after the defender’s representatives were spotted with Liverpool director Richard Hughes.
The Liverpool captain’s representatives were spotted at Anfield for the 4-1 aggregate win over Tottenham on Thursday night.
This is according to the reliable Paul Joyce, who revealed that Van Dijk’s agent was seen seated next to sporting director Richard Hughes.
Van Dijk is represented by ROOF.
The German agency is one of the biggest in football and also serves clients like Kai Havertz, Sadio Mane, and Leon Goretzka.
Van Dijk is one of their biggest stars, and the Liverpool man will be hoping his representatives will negotiate a good deal that will extend his stay at Anfield, as he is reportedly keen to remain at the club.
However, Liverpool and Van Dijk are yet to agree on a new deal, with the defender admitting after the win over Tottenham that he is still unsure of his future.
“What the future brings, I have no idea,” he said.
“Anybody who says they know it – they are wrong.”
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed the story by Paul Joyce, reiterating what we already know that Liverpool are keen on keeping the 33-year-old.
