Feyenoord have sent a message to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot after guiding the Reds to the Premier League title.

The tactician became the first Dutch manager to guide a club to the English crown in his debut campaign in charge.

Slot became the fifth head coach in history to win the league in his first season after leaving the Eredivisie, where he guided the Rotterdam team to league and domestic cup success.



Liverpool silenced their doubters after romping to a 20th English league title, completing the job with four games to spare after creating an unassailable gap to nearest challengers Arsenal.

The Gunners' slip-up against Crystal Palace in midweek, where they twice relinquished a lead, offered the Reds the opportunity to have their crowning moment in front of supporters at Anfield.

And Slot's side overcame a blip inside 12 minutes, where Dominic Solanke nodded home the equaliser, to cruise to securing the title after goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah contributed to a 5-1 triumph.

Despite leaving the club at the end of last season, concluding his time at De Kuip with the KNVB Cup added to the trophy cabinet, Feyenoord clearly still hold an immense pride in playing a part in Slot's journey to becoming a Premier League-winning manager.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Feyenoord account posted: "First ever [Dutch] manager to win the @PremierLeague.

"Congrats from us all boss," accompanied by a picture of Slot with his arms aloft with the words, 'Premier League Champion'.

During his first interview with Liverpool, the 46-year-old admitted that it would have to be a 'fantastic club' for him to depart Feyenoord and when the Reds came calling, it wasn't a difficult decision to make.

"So the first time you hear that Liverpool is interested in you, you have to keep it between me and my wife," he said.

"I always knew that it had to be a fantastic club where I would leave Feyenoord for, and this was Liverpool and the league as well.

"I think it was a year ago that I was in the interest of a few Premier League clubs as well but I decided to extend at Feyenoord with the idea of staying there two more seasons.

"But after a year, Liverpool came along and – like I just told you about the rivalry between City and Liverpool and the many games we as football fans saw – it wasn’t a difficult choice to make.

"Although, like I said, I was really happy at Feyenoord, the way I work there with the fans, with the staff, with the players."
