Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has provided an update on the future of Luis Diaz amid links to Barcelona.
Diaz has enjoyed a very productive season for Liverpool.
The Colombian winger has been one of the Reds’ most impressive players this season, with his return of 11 goals only bettered by Mohamed Salah in the club’s scoring charts.
Liverpool appreciates the 27-year-old and have opened contract negotiations with him.
However, despite enjoying his best spell as a Liverpool player and the club’s desire to keep him, Diaz remains linked with a move away from Anfield.
Last week, reports from Colombia claimed that he was keen on moving to La Liga side Barcelona.
Hansi Flick’s side approached Diaz in the summer over a possible transfer?
But Liverpool was unwilling to sanction the deal, and the Colombian remained at Anfield.
However, according to rumours, Barcelona has reportedly continued pursuing Diaz, and the player is open to moving to Camp Nou.
Florian Plettenberg’s latest update on Luis Diaz
Reliable Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has addressed those rumours, revealing that Diaz has no immediate intention of leaving Liverpool.
“Despite many rumours, Luis Diaz is currently not planning a move away from Liverpool FC,” the journalist wrote on X.
“The 27-year-old scored twice against Tottenham yesterday, feels very comfortable at the club, and there are no ongoing talks with other teams at the moment.
“The winger, who is under contract until 2027, also has a very good relationship with Arne Slot.”
