When it comes to transfers, the 2024/25 campaign has been a quiet one for Liverpool.
The Reds have only made two signings ahead of the current season, with Federico Chiesa joining Arne Slot’s squad from Juventus, while Giorgi Mamardashvili was acquired from Valencia last summer but went back to the La Liga club on loan for the remainder of the term.
Slot has been working with the same group of players that Jurgen Klopp challenged for the Premier League with last season, but the Dutch coach has brought the best out of his group of stars.
Liverpool currently sit on top of the Premier League, six points ahead of Arsenal with 23 games played, but many fans will be worried about a repeat of last season.
The Merseyside club slowed down as the campaign progressed and having spent the least of any Premier League outfit throughout the 2024/25 campaign, will that come back to haunt the Reds?

With Liverpool continuing to push for the Premier League title and maybe even a quadruple, fans hoped at least one new signing would arrive in January to give the squad a lift.
No one would arrive, however, Jayden Danns would depart for Sunderland on loan, while Kaide Gordon secured a loan move to Portsmouth.
The lack of transfer activity would confirm the Reds as the team that spent the least throughout the 2024/25 campaign, following their quiet summer.

According to Kieran Maguire, Liverpool spent just £34.7m on new players this season, which is £196.7m behind Brighton and Hove Albion, who lead the way with £231.4m.
This approach has allowed Slot to evaluate his squad fully and make adjustments accordingly during the summer months.
Liverpool are expected to attack the summer transfer window and several areas need addressing ahead of the new campaign in August.
The main area of concern for Liverpool heading into the 2025/26 campaign will be left-back, given some of the performances from Andy Robertson this season.
Liverpool have been linked to Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez in recent days, with the Premier League leaders monitoring the 23-year-old’s progress in Spain.
The other is a striker, as Slot has been using Luis Diaz in the role in recent months as Darwin Nunez continues to struggle at Anfield.
There has been a big demand for players in this position in recent months and that is expected to roll into the summer transfer window.
Arsenal and Man United are also in the market for a new number nine but Liverpool will look to trump their Premier League rivals in the race for any similar targets.
