Newcastle have announced that Lewis Hall will miss the rest of the season through injury.

The defender injured his ankle during their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Liverpool last month.

Doubts arose over Hall's ability to face the Reds in the Carabao Cup final on March 16, a match he is now confirmed to miss.

"Lewis Hall will miss the rest of the 2024/25 season after sustaining an injury to a bone in his foot," Newcastle said on X.

"Following a scan and advice from a specialist, Lewis will undergo surgery before a period of rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.

"Wishing you all the very best for your surgery and recovery, Lewis."

If Arsenal had any concerns about their lack of striking options, they needn't have worried.

That's because Mikel Arteta's side have bagged SEVEN goals in a 7-1 win against PSV Eindhoven in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino, Martin Odegaard (2), Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori saw the Gunners into a dominant lead with their spot in the quarter-finals surely all-but confirmed.

This is the first time Arsenal have scored 6 away from home in Europe since November 1993, beating Standard Liege 7-0 in the Cup Winners' Cup en route to winning the trophy.

It's also the biggest-ever Champions League knockout win.

Head over to our dedicated matchday blog for all of the reaction.

Real Madrid might be without Jude Bellingham, but that hasn't stopped them from going 2-1 up.

Bellingham's replacement on the night, Brahim Diaz, showed every inch of his quality by showing quick feet in the penalty area before driving a low effort beyond Jan Oblak to put Los Blancos back in front.

Such was his delight with the goal, Diaz then picked up a booking after throwing himself into the crowd to celebrate.

There's still more than half an hour to go but Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping that the Moroccan star will prove to be the match-winner.

The Madrid derby is level and it's another stunner - this time from Julian Alvarez.

The ex-Man City star is in the form of his life at the moment and after cutting into the penalty area he curled a glorious effort beyond Thibaut Courtois and into the top corner of the net.

It's his seventh goal in nine games in the Champions League this term and his 22nd in all competitions since signing for £70m from Man City.

1-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu and game on!

Millwall fans have conducted a minute's applause for the goalkeeper responsible for the horror challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Liam Roberts was sent off in the eighth minute of the weekend's FA Cup clash between the Lions and Crystal Palace after a high boot caught Mateta and forced him off the pitch.

As well as being red-carded, Roberts has been heavily criticised for the challenge, despite immediately apologising to the Palace star.

So in a show of support, the Millwall fans at The Den rose to their feet to back their goalkeeper - a move that will leave plenty scratching their heads.

The Bernabeu was bouncing pre-match but almost took off just three minutes in as Rodygo gives Real Madrid the lead.

A wonderful pass from Fede Valverde saw the Brazilian played in down the right before cutting in on his left foot and firing past Jan Oblak.

It's his fifth Champions League goal of the season and puts rivals Atletico under immediate pressure in the early stages.

Can Carlo Ancelotti's side capitalise on their early dominance?

Unai Emery's side have a third and they're in dreamland!

Matty Cash was brought down in the penalty area and after a short VAR check it was Marco Asensio who stepped up.

The history-making star stepped up and slotted a left-footed effort beyond Simon Mignolet to put themselves firmly in control.

It's been an absolute capitulation for Brugge but for Villa, it's been a five-minute spell that puts them in total control of the tie!

A moment of good fortune MAY have handed Aston Villa a crucial victory.

On a night where the Belgian side have perhaps had the better of the play, a late own goal has put Villa 2-1 up.

On the break, Ollie Watkins surged into the opposition box and fired a cross into a central area.

But instead of finding a Villa teammate, it found Brandon Mechele who fired it beyond Simon Mignolet.

The defender looked distraught, but Villa won't mind one bit!

Marco Asensio has written himself into the Champions League record books by becoming the first player to make 50 substitute appearances.

The 29-year-old was surprisingly left on the bench for Aston Villa's last-16 first leg tie away at Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.

But he was brought on in the 64th minute with the Villans drawing 1-1 at the Jan Breydel Stadium.

In doing so, he has created European Cup history in making a half-century of outings in the competition from the bench.

It is his first appearance for Villa in Europe's premier competition since joining the club on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

In total, the Spaniard has now featured in 70 Champions League matches.

It's game on in Brugge!

After a stunning start for Villa, Unai Emery's side have been pegged back thanks to a sweet strike from Club Brugge full-back Maxim De Cuyper.

The academy graduate picked up the ball in the penalty are and swept it past Emi Martinez to make it 1-1.

A breathtaking start to the game in Belgium!

Arsenal will be forced to wear an unusual kit combination for their Champions League clash at PSV Eindhoven, talkSPORT understands.

The Gunners will pair their black away shirt with their white home shorts for the first leg of their crunch last-16 tie on Tuesday.

This is because of PSV’s kit combination of red and white shirt with black shorts.

It is not the first time Arsenal have been forced into this change when playing the Dutch side.

Back in 2022, Mikel Arteta’s side had to make a similar switch for their then Europa League game.

Newcastle United have announced their financial results from the 2023/24 season.

The Toon revealed they increased overall revenue by 28 per cent, which they largely attribute to PSR sales and playing in the Champions League.

The commercial revenue for the club also nearly doubled from £44m to £84m.

This doesn't take into account the previous summer, so sales of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh aren't factored in.

Overall, the Toon made £320 million up from £250 million.

Speaking about the financial results, CEO Darren Eales said: "We are committed to sustainable success and we have started 2025 in a strong position.

"Our progress has been supported by diligent work on and off the pitch.

Returning to the Champions League for the first time in more than 20 years was hugely memorable for everyone connected with the club, and it has clear upside financially as we continue to grow.

"We grew our revenues by 28% in the twelve months to 30 June 2024, with an increase in matchday revenue as well as significantly improved sponsorship deals and a sharper focus on everything we are doing across the club.

"We continue to make significant strides with our commercial deals and matchday offerings as we strengthen the foundations of the long-term project here at Newcastle United."

The FA have released the written reasons for Arne Slot's two-match touchline ban.

The Liverpool manager was sent off at the end of the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park after having some words with Michael Oliver.

This followed a 2-2 draw in which the Toffees scored a last-minute equaliser through James Tarkowski.

It has now been alleged that Slot told Oliver that he had "f****** given them everything".

Plus, "if we don't win the league, I'll f****** blame you."

The Dutchman disputes that and claims he said: "If we don't win the league, I'll have you to thank for that."

But after weighing up everything, it was decided Slot should serve a two-match suspension.

Tottenham were just starting to get some players back from injury, but their cursed season has hit another iceberg just as it looked to be recovering.

This is because the Daily Mail are reporting that Dejan Kulusevski has suffered a foot injury.

The Swedish international is now set for a spell on the sidelines, and he will definitely miss the Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar and Premier League clash versus Bournemouth.

Kulusevski is now undergoing some further tests to assess the damage.

The former Juventus man has been one of Ange Postecoglou's players to avoid any injuries this year, with the Swede arguably being Spurs' best player.

However, if he is out for an extended period of time, this would be a massive blow.

PSV Eindhoven winger Ivan Perisic is adamant that his team can beat Arsenal in the Champions League.

The experienced Croatian international helped the Dutch side see off Italian giants Juventus in the last round, scoring in Turin before PSV won 3-1 at home to seal their place in the last-16.

It was an impressive display from PSV, and though Perisic knows this will be tough, he has full confidence his side can get the better of Mikel Arteta's men.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “It’s going to be tough.

“They are a really, really good team, a young team with a good coach, but over the last years, they are always missing something to step up to win something.

Tactically, we have to be at the top level to show something good against them.”

Angry Manchester United fans are planning a protest at the weekend against the Glazers before their match against Arsenal.

A section of Red Devils supporters are planning an anti-Glazer march, and every fan in attendance is being urged to wear black to show how the club is 'dying'.

The 1958 Supporters Group claim the state the club is in is 'the biggest crisis United has faced since the Munich air disaster'.
