Liverpool and Chelsea have been rivals both on and off the pitch in this most recent era of the Premier League.
This summer alone could see Liverpool and Chelsea do battle for Dean Huijsen as the AFC Bournemouth has now emerged as a target for both clubs, with the Spanish international having a big decision to make in the coming weeks.
WIth Liverpool also linked with Chelsea’s Malo Gusto, it isn’t impossible to suggest that direct business could be made between the two clubs this summer, with Arne Slot’s side expected to make as many as five signings in the off-season.
And Liverpool are now believed to be keeping an eye on one of Chelsea’s best players heading into the transfer window.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Liverpool are ‘sniffing around’ for Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, with Manchester City also interested in the England international despite how unlikely it is that the attacking midfielder leaves Stamford Bridge.
Phillips wrote: “Meanwhile, and I’m not saying we do sell him by the way, both Manchester City and Liverpool have been sniffing around Cole Palmer for the summer, with City making an enquiry recently.”
With Steve Kay claiming that Chelsea value Palmer at £85m, the former City wonderkid could be a potential option for Liverpool if they do indeed decide to advance their interest in the Premier League superstar this summer.

However, with Palmer by far and away Chelsea’s best player and Liverpool one of the Blues’ biggest Premier League rivals, the odds of the west London side selling the 22-year-old remains low, especially with Slot not in desperate need of an attacking midfielder.
Palmer is without question one of the best players in the Premier League, with the Chelsea star a key reason why the Blues are in the fight for UEFA Champions League football this season despite mixed results and performances.
And although Palmer could be an exciting signing for many Liverpool fans, the England international is not the superstar player the Reds should be looking at bringing in, with other areas of the pitch in need of some serious work.
Indeed, Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak makes the Newcastle United striker the dream superstar signing for the Anfield side this summer, and moving for Palmer could end up being a messy deal if things go sideways.
