Former Liverpool Elite Development Coach Vitor Matos, speaking on the Training Ground Guru Podcast , expressed deep gratitude for Klopp and his assistant Pep Lijnders.

He said, “I will always be grateful to him, and of course Pep, for opening the door for me – someone coming from outside the staff that Jürgen didn’t know, allowing me to work with such a high level of players and in a high level league.”

“That was priceless.”
