When a player like Alisson Becker gets linked with a move, fans pay attention.
He’s been one of the most important names on Liverpool’s team sheet for years.
So, any talk of him leaving naturally sparks debate.
One of the more surprising reports came from Turkey.
Galatasaray, currently leading the Super Lig, were said to be in talks to bring in the Brazilian as a replacement for veteran Fernando Muslera.
It sounded ambitious.
Any club would love the opportunity for a big-name keeper like the Brazilian shotstopper to lead their next phase.
But going after someone like Alisson was always going to be complicated.
A deal of that size doesn’t come cheap.
And now, the Turkish media say the move might not happen at all.
According to Fotomac, Galatasaray have distanced themselves from signing Alisson Becker.
The Istanbul club reportedly held meetings with his agent to discuss a possible summer transfer.
But it didn’t go far.
The sticking point was the money.
Fotomac reports that “Galatasaray management contacted Alisson Becker’s agent?
During the meeting, Alisson’s agent requested 25 million euros from Galatasaray”
That’s far beyond what Galatasaray were prepared to pay.
As a result, they’ve reportedly turned their attention elsewhere.
Lyon goalkeeper Lucas Perri is now being considered as a more realistic option.
The same report also claims that Alisson “received an annual offer of 30 million euros from Saudi Arabia.”
That could play a role in his future, especially if Liverpool are ready to move on.
The Reds are expected to bring in Giorgi Mamardashvili in the summer.
The Georgian was signed last year from Valencia and loaned back to the Spanish club for the season.
With Mamardashvili set to arrive and Alisson’s contract running until June 2027, Liverpool’s goalkeeping situation could soon shift.
For now, Galatasaray are out.
But the story around Alisson’s future might just be getting started.
