Liverpool were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League last night against PSG, with the Reds losing more than just the tie.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced off injured for the Reds after going down with an ankle issue in the second-half, with Jarell Quansah forced to fill in at right-back as Arne Slot now faces a big squad problem ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final.
With Ibrahima Konate also being forced off, last night’s penalty shootout loss against PSG could not have gone any worse for Liverpool, who could now be without two key players heading into this weekend’s clash with Newcastle United.
And Slot has now issued a worrying injury update on Alexander-Arnold after the England international was forced off.

Speaking to the press, the Dutch manager confidently predicted that Alexander-Arnold won’t make it for Liverpool’s League final encounter with Newcastle on Sunday, leaving the Reds with no natural right-backs for the game.
Conor Bradley has been out injured for Liverpool for some time with the Anfield side now without a player who could fill in for Alexander-Arnold naturally, with Quansah the early favourite to replace the 26-year-old defender for the weekend.
Although Slot admitted that Konate’s problem against PSG was due to tiredness, losing Alexander-Arnold for this weekend’s final at Wembley Stadium will go down as a huge blow for Liverpool, who will be without one of their key players.
Slot said: “I have to ask but for me Ibou was more that he was tired than it was an injury.
And from what I heard from people that saw the images or how he got injured, that didn’t look very good.
