Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool has been one of the biggest talking points this season in the Premier League.
The Egyptian international has enjoyed his best year yet at Anfield with Salah on course to set numerous English top-flight records having scored 29 goals and bagged 17 assists with nine Premier League games left to go.
Despite the 32-year-old’s form, Liverpool are yet to reach an agreement with Salah, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pending move to Real Madrid only increasing pressure on the Reds to strike a deal with the former AS Roma star.
However, heading into tonight’s Merseyside derby, a big update has now dropped surrounding Salah’s future at Liverpool.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Salah is close to extending his contract at Liverpool, with a full agreement set to be reached in what will be a huge sigh of relief for the Premier League leaders and supporters.
Aouna posted: “Mohamed Salah is now close to extend his contract at Liverpool.
A full agreement is close to being reached, as some details are being worked on.
Liverpool are now confident.”
As per Foot Mercto’s extended report, Salah’s new deal will be two years long with Liverpool also working on tying Virgil van Dijk to a new contract, with the general feeling being that the Ditch international will also pen fresh terms with the Merseyside giants.

Indeed, in a week where Salah has been linked with Saudi Arabia once again, Liverpool reaching an agreement at last for the winger will be huge news for the Anfield side heading into the summer, with one big potential issue now being dealt with.
Salah’s contract was arguably the most important problem Liverpool had to resolve going into the summer, with this afternoon’s update a huge boost for the Reds and their plans heading into the transfer window.
And with Alexander-Arnold set to join Madrid, the only thing Liverpool must now focus on is Van Dijk’s contract, with terms yet to be agreed between the pending Premier League champions and the Anfield captain.
Whilst there is confidence that Van Dijk will sign a new contract with Liverpool, fans will be restless until the pen is on the paper, and the Reds must move fast to ensure their captain does not leave for free this summer.
