Gary Neville discussed Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City on the Gary Neville podcast

Gary Neville believes Liverpool are home and hosed in their quest for a second Premier League title in five years after Sunday's 2-0 win over Manchester City.

First-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai earned the Reds a first league victory at the Etihad in almost ten years to move 11 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

Sunday's win came after the Gunners failed to narrow the gap to Liverpool to five points as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Now, with Liverpool's lead stretching into double fixtures with just 11 games of the season remaining, Neville believes that Sunday's win has confirmed Liverpool as the Premier League champions in waiting.

"They haven't 'won it' obviously, but they have.

I think in years gone by I've got involved in debates with other people that Arsenal didn't need to come here and win," said Neville on the Gary Neville podcast on Sunday night.

"But you do.

To really make a statement when you're trying to take a title off someone and really ram it home that you are worthy title winners, you need to go and do something different.

"I think what they have done today, Liverpool, is not just go 11 points clear, which points them in an incredible position, but psychologically, you feel unbeatable after a game like today and those Liverpool players in the dressing room will have such warmth, such a feeling of togetherness and spirit.

"Not just the togetherness out on the pitch that we saw, but the spirit when they get into that dressing room will be electric.

Liverpool can slip twice, three times and Arsenal have to win every single match, so it's getting more and more difficult by the week.

"Today seemed a very significant day, it's a massive day in this Premier League title race and I think when you win away from home like they have at Manchester City, it's a big, big moment."
