Through gritted teeth, Gary Neville finally admitted that Liverpool will be the country's greatest club if they equal Manchester United's English top-flight titles record today.
Arne Slot's men can win the 2024/25 Premier League by earning just a single point against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield (4.30pm).
The historic rivalry between Liverpool and their north west foes comes as a result of old English First Division and Premier League titles over the decades.
Since 2013, United have reigned supreme in that regard - having picked up 20 titles - which is currently more than anyone else.
Neville played a part in eight of those victories, which fell during the 30-year-long dark ages that success evaded the Reds.
But ending that spell in 2020 reduced the gap between the arch rivals to only one title and - at full-time this afternoon against Spurs - we will know whether Liverpool have moved equal with United or not.

"It is a massive deal when you think of the league title and the importance of a league title," Neville explained.
"You think of the great managers that Liverpool have had like [Bill] Shankley, [Bob] Paisley, Kenny Dalglish, Joe Fagan and obviously at United, talking about the importance of your bread and butter winning the league title.
"The accolade of the most successful club, you could debate it maybe when Manchester United were on 20 titles and obviously Liverpool do have more European Cups but, once Liverpool get level with Manchester United, the painful thing to say is that unfortunately the debate is over for a period until United become successful again and win leagues.

"It should cause real tremors over at Old Trafford the idea that Liverpool, who are obviously a great football club, and now are the most successful football club [in England] after today...
