Gary Neville was quick to take aim at Manchester City's defence for their failure to stop Mohamed Salah's opening goal at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.
Liverpool arrived at their struggling rivals with the prospect of opening up an 11-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
With Arne Slot's side task set out clearly after the Gunners' defeat to West Ham on Saturday, the Reds subjected Pep Guardiola's City to an onslaught in the first half.
Dominik Szoboszlai shows short and just plays it to Mo Salah, who just puts his foot through it and it takes the deflection off Nathan Ake to take it past Ederson," the ex-Manchester United captain explained on duty for Sky.

However, as much as he was complimentary of his old rivals, Neville had just as much rage in the tank to direct towards City's players for failing to keep Salah out.
He added: "But that goal came from Man City faffing about at the back.
Gone are the days where City's back players are comfortable on the ball."
Salah's compatriot has seen a strike correctly ruled out by the offside flag with Szoboszlai since extending Liverpool's advantage to two goals after 37 minutes, which has lasted through to half-time.
They were the 36th and 37th goals Guardiola's side have conceded all season as they now linger in fourth, level on points with fifth-placed Newcastle United and far from their target of lifting the Premier League title at the expense of Slot's men or Arsenal.
Meanwhile, hardly anything can be detracted from Salah finishing off such a neat move.
The 32-year-old has moved on to 50 goal contributions for the season in all competitions, or alternatively 40 contributions in just the Premier League.

This is now the fifth separate season in which he has netted 30+ times for the Reds, joining Roger Hunt and Ian Rush as a trio only to achieve that feat.
And lastly, it was his 241st strike overall in Liverpool colours - equalling Gordon Hodgson at third on the all-time list for the club.
