Giorgi Mamardashvili would only be willing to remain at Valencia for another season if the Spanish club increased his salary.
The Georgian goalkeeper was signed by Liverpool last summer but immediately rejoined Valencia on a season-long loan, as there was deemed to be little chance of him usurping Alisson as the Reds' first-choice goalkeeper.
As it happened, Alisson has suffered with a few injuries over the course of the campaign, so Mamardashvili would have had significant game time had he moved to Merseyside last summer.
After a difficult spell with Valencia earlier this season, Mamardashvili has shown his best form in recent weeks, prompting the Mestalla club to want to keep him for another year.

However, Estadio Deportivo reports that Mamardashvili would stand to lose "a lot of money" by staying with Valencia for another season.
The 24-year-old could decide to move to Liverpool, although he has no intention of playing second fiddle to Alisson, who remains at the top of his game.
Caoimhin Kelleher deputized excellently for Alisson last year but Arne Slot always maintained that the Brazilian was going to regain his place when he returned to full fitness.
Amid links with a move to the Saudi Pro League, Alisson said last year that he wants to honor his contract with Liverpool, which runs until 2027.
