Arne Slot’s side played out a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Wednesday but could have won the contest had Darwin Nunez converted Liverpool’s best chance.
However, a win could be a big boost to Liverpool’s season and Slot’s squad may need it as Andy Robertson suggests that they are starting to get tired.

Andy Robertson has been rotated a lot by Slot this season but the Scottish star has started Liverpool’s last five games as the fixtures start to grow in importance.
Others such as Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Graveneberch and Alexis Mac Allister have all played over 2500 minutes this season and it has been evident in recent performances from the Reds that the midfield is starting to show signs of fatigue.

Robertson has hinted at this ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Man City on Sunday stating that schedule has been tough and mentions the little break on the horizon.
“We need to recover, rest as much as we can because the schedule has been tough – but we’ll be ready to go on Sunday.
“The whole squad has to be ready, the manager keeps on saying that, the lads on the bench have to be ready to make an impact.

“Once we get through the next two games then we’ve got a little break where we’ve not got a game at the weekend.
“We just need to keep pushing through that and if we do then let’s see where we’re at after that.”
Despite Man City’s struggles this season, Liverpool will still have to perform at a high level, and the Reds’ Aston Villa showing was not a concern for Robertson.
