With around three months left of the 2024/25 season, Liverpool are beginning to focus their sights on silverware.

The Reds are still on course to lift the Premier League title and will also be hopeful that a Champions League trophy may even follow.

Beyond the glory that could await them, though, the end of the current campaign is set to signal the end of Mohamed Salah’s career at Liverpool.

Salah has become one of the best players in Liverpool history over the past eight years, cementing his legacy with one of the great individual seasons this term.

The fact that the Egyptian – along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold – is yet to renew his contract has cast a pall over what has otherwise been a sensational campaign at Anfield.

With Liverpool still trying to tie Salah down, though, hope that he will stay remains.

Despite moving towards his 33rd birthday, the forward is looking at producing his best ever season.

And after backing him to be in the Ballon d’Or conversation, both Lineker and Shearer tipped Salah to put pen to paper on a new deal at Liverpool.

Liverpool fans will be desperately hoping that Lineker and Shearer’s gut feeling is spot on here

Time is very much ticking for the Reds to get Salah’s contract sorted out and the Egyptian King is truly showing no signs of slowing down.

There will of course come a point when Liverpool have left it too late.

With barely three months of the season left to play, that juncture is very much coming.

As a result, we’ll surely know soon enough exactly what is happening with Mo, as well as Van Dijk and Salah.

The feeling has fluctuated on all three as the season has progressed.
