The AXA Training Centre coffee bar has become something of an icon in its short time in existence.

And according to Slot, it has been a real asset to the team’s success.

Whoever came up with the idea to put a coffee bar inside the entrance of the Liverpool training ground deserves a raise.

The little area has become a hub of activity and banter, with Salah in particular regularly spotted joking and laughing with his teammates while sipping an espresso.

During a new interview with Sky Sports, Slot was asked whether he was the person behind the bar’s inception.

“What has changed and what you see a lot – and that wasn’t my idea – we’ve created a coffee bar over here and that is what you see on social media,” he said.

It’s been a great idea because players are in and around that coffee bar a lot.”

“I have to give a big compliment as well to the one who’s leading the coffee bar, Alex,” Slot adds.

“He always finds the right music for the right players and always gives the right vibe over there.

The players sit down over there, talk to each other and have a lot of fun.”

Having praised the coffee bar’s inception and the ‘vibe’ of the place, Slot also went on to insist that it is the people behind it who make it special.

“If you have a coffee bar and you don’t have results probably you don’t see the same vibe over there,” he admitted.

I believe you need to have a good training ground, you need to have a good program, but you definitely need to have good people.

“So, if you have a coffee bar and someone is working there who doesn’t bring the right vibe then it probably doesn’t work as well.

You can come up with all the brilliant ideas but in the end people make it a success and that has been done great by this club.”

Should Liverpool go on to win the biggest prizes this season – in the first year of the coffee bar’s opening – it will surely go on to become an instant legend within the fanbase.
